The next major Film I know of to be released in 48 FPS is The Hobbit (December).

Or just film on your camera with 48 FPS. Most cameras can do that; and then play it. you'll see the difference right away.

Hey it's on the internet, so it must be true, eh?

No really. Even if it's true, that's such a small difference, I didn't even noticed it. After I watched the 60 FPS one for like 10 seconds I noticed that it's a bit smoother. But really, it's not such a big deal.

But we are talking about 50 fps and not 30 fps here. You probably have to buy Blitz3D and edit the source code if you want to remove the frame limit.

Movies are usually recorded at 24 fps because it's easier to edit them. It's bullshit that human eyes can't tell the difference between an 24fps and a 60fps movie/game. 24 is sort of smooth, 30fps is somewhat usual in most games but the best is something at like 60fps and above.

In games you can easily see the difference between 30fps and 60fps and no one can say the opposite.

If you never played a game in 30fps and them played the same game with 60fps or more, so, you'll not understand what I'm talking about. The game flows better with more fps and it's a little bit faster when you're playing at higher fps. An example of it is when you're playing at 15fps you count the time you spend to go to a place to another, and them you play at 30fps you'll notice that to do the same thing you'll spend less time.

In race games you can feel it even better, when you're with low fps you can see that your car seems slower than it should be, what should not happend, you should just see your car jumping from one place to another and not slowing down.

What can I say, games fps is different from other fps (movies and etc.).

And eyes have no such a fps rating that's just an estimation that eyes have 24fps but as people have different eyes we can say that people have different fps.

This only applies to games which are programmed in a bad way. Nearly all modern games compensate low FPS by changing the speed of things accordingly.
So a car that moves 10 units per frame with 60 FPS will move 20 units per frames if you only get 30 FPS. This way you drive exactly the same distance in the same time, no matter how many FPS you got.

Frame rate doesn't really matter for some types of games, because the difference between 30, 50, 60 aren't even noticeable in those types of genres.

@user ohaz: Talk to anyone who has played quake, big difference
