I find that the British do not just accept any good-looking actor/actress, they only accept the people that are great at acting. While the Americans take any good-looking person they can find.

I am obsessed with British TV series such as Dr. Who. I hope I'm not the only one here that watches it!

American.

May I ask why?

British TV is MUCH better. Look at Top Gear, the USA copy sucks and they basically fucked it up and didn't even change logo/name.
Original British Top Gear is WAY better, the brits have that dark humour that cause my sides to explode of laughing too hard, even the funniest fat Americans don't do a portion of that to me.
Same for other series 'murricans decided to copy, such as The Inbetweeners. Wtf?! I laughed extremely loud with the UK version, and decided to watch USA episodes but no, just no. They try too hard to be funny, while Brits just open their mouth and dat accent does it.

And at 20:05, HAHAAHA.
http://youtu.be/CujUW89crcI?t=24m04s 24:04, it's fucking funny when they start vomiting around.

Ok, I have written now too much. And with that bombshell, I'm out of here.

@user medeiros: They also copied Skins and completely removed anything to do with nudity and swearing. The whole fun of the series was ruined by the American version.

@user robed: That's another great series, thanks for reminding me. I am pretty sure the new season episode has been out for a couple of days. I'll have to check HBO some time and record it.

Exactly, I also enjoyed the UK Skins and tried to watch USA Skins but was extremely disappointed by the reason you stated.

Americans see Brit TV is so good ad they copy it and end up fucking it up.

Not much of a bombshell.

Didn't meant to be one TBH     , just imagined Jeremy Carlkson's voice saying that. Also fixed my post as I forgot to add that.

but the people to directed it was american but most of the actors where british

Most of Game of Thrones was filmed in Northern Ireland. And not to mention that most of the Fantasy settings are usually based of European Medieval history/Middle Ages.

shawn of the dead is a good example of a humorous british film

Shaun*. And there are definitely more British films than just SOTD that are considerably funny.

The problem with this is that British humour and America humour do not go well together.

Another comedy series, Shameless, also fell under the same format. The reason that it is funny in the UK is because of the atrocious welfare system we have and the subculture that it follows under. The US version tries to create the same formula but (shamelessly) it doesn't live up to expectations.

There aren't many British movies but there are epic movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry potter and some others.
I agree that the british act better, and they don't need nudity or sex to make their movies famous.
Americans are better when it comes to comedy movies thou.
such as scary movie serious and Jim Carry's movies.

Except that the Scary Movie series are atrocious and Jim Carrey isn't that funny.

I really like The Walking Dead, been addicted since first season aired here in Portugal in early 2011. Yes, it is American but it's pretty nice (finally they didn't copy some good British series).
In season 2 I discovered that Rick (the main character) is actually British IRL, because I saw an interview and he was speaking naturally British, went to Wikipedia and that confirmed it. It's really cool that he can switch between dat British accent and the semi-cowboy 'murrican one.
I guess it's a coincidence that my favourite American series has a British main character.

The Brits and the Yanks have been doing this for ages. Just look at Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock. We practically borrowed one another.
