Sup guys. Not many know me but i create some coop maps. My latest Half-Life single player map (that can be played by multiple players) was a great succes, over 150 downloads (i think for todays times its pretty neat), and i've decided to make Half-Life 2 singleplayer-coop map for cs2d.

Anyway i will need alot of sprites and fresh tiles for this "litle" project of mine, and here i ask if some of you guys already have something.
This map will be created a long time (maybe even few months) so i guess im asking for some help, and maybe some support (do you guys even care?).

And yeah, it will include 2Gen's Extension for Starkkz's NPC Pack , so it will be my first map with script. 2Gen added some Half-Life 2 npc-s, and will add some more so i think in the end map will be pretty awesome.

Write your toughts.

You're half-life 1 map was pretty poor, it looked like I could've finished it 3 times as faster than the real half-life (I only played until the We Have Hostiles part)

I'm not saying it's bad but it can be improved, examples;
1. Set player speed to 5 so it will feel more like the real half-life. (CS1.6 and HL1 speed is way different)
2. Don't make things that just 'need' to look the same, make them feel the same.
3. Don't spam snarks because they only show later on in the real HL1 game.
4. Don't skip parts that seem empty, even they help us players who played the game understand the 2d version of it. (I couldn't make anything back to 3d in my mind after the testing part, like why do I get a gun at the start?!)

Overall I would've rated it 6/10 but no more since it's just like the rest of your maps just bigger and half life themed...

I would like to see improvements on your HL2 maps and therefore I vote yes, but please take the things I said in your mind, would be helpful...

@user Mami Tomoe: well some things i made specific way because like i've said it's imposible to implement 3d game into 2d game, and to make it more fun (i guess) i made some things my way. But Half-Life 2 will be something new since i wont use any tiles i've used untill now (maybe 1 or 2 like water, or radiation tile) and wont use any sprite that is related to half life 1 (since in HL2 there is no HECU but combine obviously)

And it's shame you didn't play whole map, maybe later you would find it interesting.

Like airbot, gravity gun, etc. I mean, If you are serious then I hope that somebody will help you. But sadly I can't, I'm bad at code, and also I haven't any sprite about HL2 since I only make HL1 maps. What can I say is, just be patient and good luck. Let's hope this project will be finish.

I would to see anything that you've done so far. This is really big project, so there should be a graph/table to show us what you did so far then we can help you faster. In other words, edit your thread and add a graph. I can give you an example thread; thread cs2d Half-Life 2D 0.0.0.4

And for now, i've only made one map that become test map for npc's behavior, and just so i can feel the taste of all this new stuff. Map isn't anything special, simple coop test map with HL2 sounds with some classic tile set.

To conclude, i'm in process of creating tiles (it would be nice if somebody has something HL2 related), sprites and all stuff i will need for map.

If you will do something different than just some npcs randomly placed and some "similar" parts from the original game, then yes.

I know it's only map, as you noticed but it looks wicked. I mean, you should use lua for at least sometimes. Make G-man skin and set your speed to -100. Furthermore, find advanced tiles. If you're going to do that without lua, then it's fine but don't wait good comment(s) from me.

EDIT:
actually you give me another good idea, i'll make parse setpos to another location so it isn't 3d, but it will be total 2d on the begining
(i'll have to make 2 more rooms for that tho...)

If taking some screenshots from 3D game to make 2D game is correct way, then why you still needed tiles or sprite? Take screenshots all of them from orginal game. √

And, oh... Sorry, yes, I mentioned it wrong. Let me add one word to there. "And also when you moving, image will not moving with you too." It sucks. I'm happy right now, cause of you went to correct decision.

And i still need alot of sprites and some tiles because it takes alot of time to extract good sprites/tiles from game, that's why i asked almost every person i know on us if there is something that is good and half life 2 related.
