Maybe it's just your old toaster not running properly anymore. Where's the difference if it crashes 10 times a day rather than twice? Shit's probably on it's last leg.

artin1390: Your account here at the website does not look suspicious in any way. It was only accessed from the same IP all the time (at least recently, data isn't stored forever) and it's the same IP that was used while writing this thread. It's still possible that someone logged in into your account using CS2D.

If you are afraid that someone hacked you / accessed you account in any way, these are the things you should do:

check your PC for malware and spyware

change your password. especially the one you use here / for the U.S.G.N.

if you used the same password somewhere else: change it there as well. in general you should never use the same password for different services.

btw: I removed the pointless poll. Polls are optional. Only use them if there's a reason. Also I removed your double post.

Yes, indeed. I use a password manager, ensuring that each of my passwords across various services are randomly generated and unique.

Gaios: Going a little off-topic here, but nothing beats memorising the passwords.
A password manager can have data leaks just like any company.

You have a wonderful brain, use it.

I don't think it's smart to try to remember many passwords. People are lazy and this makes most people choose weak passwords which are easy to remember. Sometimes even passwords which follow a pattern and which are therefore easier to hack / find out with social engineering. This certainly isn't true for everyone and you might have a smart strategy to come up with and memorize secure passwords but for the average user it's probably not the best idea.

Just use an established open source password manager (e.g. KeePassXC) which only stores stuff locally and encrypts all data with a master password (and additionally a key file) so you only have to remember the master password & keep the key file around. Of course this can still go wrong but it's relatively safe. You can also put the encrypted keys in the cloud but keep the key file locally.

About remembering passwords, I got like 10 and each have a pattern not difficult to remember. Just that it has a pattern, a prefix in password, a phrase from your favorite movie/game, something that reminds you or your imaginery visualization of this account. I've watched long time ago a Ted talk about memorizing things from some kind of a master "memorizer" who is competing in sports about "memorizing". One thing that stayed with me was how he put an image of elephant in his head and created stories about that elephant. Through association, you remember the most things. That's why the weirdest/first time things are always the easiest to remember.
