What does the native man mean from that? I planted 10 grains and they grew a bit and i gathered 1 sheaf from all of them, yet the man says it's not enough. What am I doing wrong?

You need them to grow up at their maximal size. You'll get 3 leaves then.

Just wait few days and nights and then harvest.
