I don't know why they didn't add this to the game yet.

Yes, you can put an image over a player but it's not the same, at all. When walking, the player moves the body and the image you put over doesn't move. So it looks really bad.

I'd like to get an answer from developers, it would be really cool if we could do this...

At least, if we could hide the player completely, we could approach to achieve something similar to changing the skin.

You mean that rotation when attacking with a knife for example?

@user Avo: He means that the image placement isn't as responsive as the body. Say if you ran with speedmod it would be quite clear how image is 1-2 pixels behind the body placement, which makes an ugly effect.

@user Zeik: If I'm not mistaken, Alistaire made a script that does perfect invisibility, maybe it's possible to put an image over his script stuff so it would look like a new skin.
Mind that this is a 2D game that's not as important for DC as Stranded 3. If he ever updates/adds this feature, I'm sure you'll be long gone.

@user Pagyra: read the post man.

@user Rainoth: I couldn't find it, but I read something about putting a tile image over the player to make it invisible... it sounds bad. And about the movement, I was referring to the slighty moves the body of the player do when moving. Maybe you didn't notice it.

If they add a skin change, we could do better ambience for our "games", giving us the posibility to do more attracting stuff...

Why are you doing silly chatter?
Using Lua scripts(and not only that) allow you to:
• Totally hide skin image player
• Replace it for any player to change view skins of other player (and not only it) (ie, each player will see different skins of other players - for example, I saw all players with skins pirates, and my friend with the skins of animals... so on), except that you can create "layers "pictures of characters (standard has 2 layers - in my modes of 6) and use animation for player skins.

Add a function which contains the image of each action, holding a handgun, rifle, reloading etc. Then just check when each CS2D action image changes into this and make sure the function is executed at that moment.

There, you've got yourself a player skin for everyone to see.

@user Rainoth: Thanks, I tried it but it's too buggy and it actually doesn't work as I suppose it should...

@user Pagyra: why so rude? your posts ain't helpful, it looks like you're trying to show that you know but don't wanna share your knowledge...
Tell me if you know a way to hide a player without making everything look awful and how to put a skin after doing so.

@user Yates: Without hiding the player, placing a skin over will look bad, for the reasons I mentioned before.

It would make our life easier if they add a way to change skins with lua, or at least completely hide a player with lua.

I won't take a lot of time trying to do something I know will look awful. That's why I'm asking for a feature like that.

He. Singular form of one person referring to a male. DC is the sole person who owns Unreal Software. He's a student (or at least was, I heard he was doing his Thesis so not sure now) and he's busy with Stranded 3. He can't do all the things we ask of him. As I've already mentioned, I don't believe something like the feature you ask will be added in the near months.
You should try to do whatever you're trying to do with lua and your own drawing skills. It's the best choice. Or you can give up.

Obvious shit is obvious. You must really try harder to think because even an idiot understands I mean for you to use invisible armour. I even made this script once before, you don't notice your actual skin with a scripted one ontop.

I also have to defend Pagyra here, eventhough I would rather not, he has actually been more useful then I as he posted my suggestion first.

That's UnrealSoftware, deal with it :P.

If you want, I might find some time to help you in your problem. I think that I may find the way to make skin as "natural" as it is in game (not perfectly natural tho).

@user Rainoth: Well I just say it would be cool if he adds that. I'm not saying it's necessary :p

Edit: why is people so agressive in this forum?

Because this is unrealsoftware. It's not true but in my eyes it contains few kinds of people :
• Chill guys (very few)
• Kids and/or trolls (definitely not few)
• Normal users who just hang around here (also very few)
• People (also USUALLY kids) who ask for help or have some suggestions

I bet you'd become a bit "irritated" too if you got to hang around here for a bit. Some people just really get on the nerves, but they leave and we stay.

P.S. are* It's plural
